batch digitisation and restoration

  • 2$ per photo, with restoration and colour correction then charged at a rate of 30$-35$/hr*
  • 3$ per slide and/or piece of film media, with retouching and colour correction then charged at a rate of 30$-40$/hr*
  • .50c per combined A4-8x11 page of text, with OCR and PDF processing then at a rate commensurate to the complexity of the project**
  • for oversized texts, sketchbooks, fragile text digitisation, etc, please contact to discuss.
*Factors impacting final charges include, but are not limited to: fragility/age of media, colour decay, complexity of restoration, etc. This can be determined with a visual sample. As you can imagine, there's a bit of a different workflow to healing water damage from pinked polaroids as compared to removing a few tears!

**This includes, but is not limited to, transcription, metadata aggregation for out-of-print texts and/or custom generation of metadata for home-bound and/or non-published texts [e.g. journals, sketchbooks, diaries, scrapbooks, newspaper clipping collections, family recipe books, etc].

invoicing

Another keystone of my practise is ensuring expedient return of your media. Nevermind that putting a dollar sign on one's memories is an uncomfortable notion; this holds true for myself towards yours.
To cut through the noise of money-talk and ensure a consistent fulfillment of your project, I offer staged invoicing:
  • Half of per-item batch scanning rate at drop off. Don't know how many you have? I'll count them for you!
  • Final half of per-item batch scanning rate upon pickup. I will also share with you your scanned RAWs [accessibly organised, classified, and transcribed as needed].
    For the restoration phase:
  • Hourly rate for hours incurred at 50% processing
  • Final 50%
All payment is due upon receipt. I offer discounted rates for larger collections and/or public institutions.
